Tasting Notes
Enchanting aromas of spiced red cherry, wood spice and cola lead to a graceful symphony of flavors. The elegant acidity intertwines harmoniously with notes of baking spice, rhubarb and fresh berries. This medium-bodied wine possesses a unique charm, reminiscent of an Old World style, captivating your palate with its singular focus.
Vintage Notes
2021 was a very cool vintage on the central coast. Throughout most days in the late spring and summer we experienced heavy marine layer, with many days never seeing the sun. This resulted in the vines growing very slowly, ripening the fruit very slowly and ultimately a late start to harvest. One of the benefits of the cold was very slow and steady development of the fruit. We were able to reach mature flavors at relatively low sugars.
Winemaker Notes
100% Estate. With views directly on to the ocean located 3 miles away, Laetitia Estate vineyards benefit from cool sunshine and moderate nights. Volcanic soils contribute to the perfect growing conditions. Block O2 is located on one of the western-most knolls on the Estate. It is one of the coldest locations due to its proximity to the ocean.
