Tasting Notes

Supple spiced cherry aromas intertwine harmoniously with alluring baking spice and subtle hints of citrus. Flavors of jammy fruit are accompanied by velvety smooth tannins and refreshing acidity. The lengthy finish is balanced and complex, with deep savory notes of cocoa and leather that blend seamlessly with the persistent fruit notes.

Vintage Notes

2021 was a very cool vintage on the central coast. Throughout most days in the late spring and summer we experienced heavy marine layer, with many days never seeing the sun. This resulted in the vines growing very slowly, ripening the fruit very slowly and ultimately a late start to harvest. One of the benefits of the cold was very slow and steady development of the fruit. We were able to reach mature flavors at relatively low sugars.

Winemaker Notes

100% Estate. With views directly on to the ocean located 3 miles away, Laetitia Estate vineyards benefit from cool sunshine and moderate nights. Volcanic soils contribute to the perfect growing conditions. Block Y Clone 2A is an 5.18 acre block located on a secluded south facing slope in the southern part of the Estate.
